Board of Directors


Katherine Davis joined the Board of Directors in May 2007. Ms. Davis is presently the owner of Davis Design Group LLC., a company that provides analytical and visual tools for public policy design. Previously, she was CEO of Global Access Point, a company with products for data transport, data processing, and data storage network and hub facilities. Ms. Davis held a number of government positions, including Lieutenant Governor of the State of Indiana and Controller of the City of Indianapolis. Ms. Davis serves on the not-for-profit boards of Noble of Indiana, Lumina Foundation for Education, Indianapolis Foundation, Central Indiana Community Foundation, Western Governors University Indiana, and Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Director Gail Page


Gail Page joined the Board of Directors in July 2017. Ms. Page is presently the owner of Vineyard Investment Advisors, a company that she founded in 2013. Previously she served as the President, CEO and a director of Vermillion, Inc., a healthcare company focused on developing and commercializing novel diagnostic blood tests. Ms. Page served as Senior Vice President at Roche Biomedical/Laboratory Corporation of America and as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Luminex. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry, Women @ Austin, Association of Corporate Growth (Board Member), the National Association of Corporate Directors (Advisory Board Member), and Women Corporate Directors Foundation. She currently serves on the board of Sword Diagnostics, Inc., Consortia Health Holdings (Chair and Co-founder), and NxPrenatal, Inc. (Executive Chair). Ms. Page earned a B.S. in Medical Technology from the University of Florida and completed an executive management program at the Kellogg School of Northwestern University.



Dr. Polan joined the Board of Directors in August 2018. She is a Professor of Clinical Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the Yale University School of Medicine, where her work focuses on reproductive health for women. She is a renowned women’s health researcher. Dr. Polan has significant experience in leadership roles at several medical schools, and prior to Yale she served as an Adjunct Professor in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Columbia University School of Medicine. Previously Dr. Polan spent 15 years as the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Polan also currently serves on the board of Quidel Corp., and Motif BioSciences, Inc. and is the Chair of the Procter & Gamble Scientific Advisory Board on Women’s Health and Hygiene. She received her Ph.D. and M.D. from Yale University, and M.P.H. from University of California at Berkeley.

Director John Potthoff


Dr. Potthoff joined the Board of Directors in May 2018. He has 25 years of experience in the clinical research services industry, with deep ties to diagnostics and pharmaceutical companies. He is currently the CEO of Elligo Health Research, a clinical research company aimed at being the preeminent provider of clinical research infrastructure services and technologies. Prior to Elligo, Dr. Potthoff was the CEO of Theorem Clinical Research, where he led the company through a period of significant growth and its acquisition by Chiltern International. Previously, Dr. Potthoff was the CEO and founder of Tanistry, Inc., a contract research organization focused on the central nervous system. Dr. Potthoff also currently sits on the boards of Advarra and SynteractHCR and was previously a director at Chiltern until its acquisition by LabCorp in 2017. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Texas-Austin, where he also received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts, also in Psychology.

President and director john sperzel


John Sperzel joined Chembio Diagnostic Systems, Inc. in March 2014, and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Sperzel served as President and CEO at ITC, a Point of Care Diagnostics company owned by private equity firm, Warburg Pincus. He previously held executive leadership positions at Axis-Shield, Bayer Diagnostics, Instrumentation Laboratory and Boehringer Mannheim. Mr. Sperzel received a B.S. in Business Administration/Management from Plymouth State College.
