Position Summary:      The Facilities Cleaner is responsible for cleaning of common areas to ensure a safe and orderly environment for employees at Chembio. This position encompasses duties associated with the maintenance and sanitation of offices, warehouse and manufacturing facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing daily cleaning per Plant Sanitation SOP.
  • Perform the following daily tasks: clean, dust, vacuum and/or mop floors of offices, break rooms, hallways, conference rooms, common areas and rest rooms; including cleaning sinks, and toilets. Collect trash from the break rooms, offices, hallways, conference rooms, rest rooms and common areas, including cigarette disposal units at entrances.
  • Collect recyclable materials and dispose of them in the proper containers.
  • Routine maintenance of restrooms, including cleaning sinks, and floors, Stock all restrooms with paper goods on a daily basis as needed.
  • Perform exterior washing of windows.
  • Performing facilities-related projects & repairs
  • Completing maintenance work requests as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Insuring that interior and exterior appearance of the facility is within cleanliness guidelines.
  • Reports issues with cleaning contractor to Supervisor.
  • Collect and Dispose of Red Bag Waste per SOP’s
  • Procure materials required for Plant Sanitation.
  • Performing projects as determined by the Supervisor of Facilities.
  • Assist Facilities and Maintenance staff upon request.
  • Able to lift up to 50+lbs, stand for long periods of time.
  • Other duties as needed to meet the needs of the department, plant or business.

Qualifications Required:

  • Relevant experience as it applies to plant sanitation, cleaning, painting etc.
  • Have good situational judgment and decision making skills.
  • Must be able to work closely with all Facilities & Maintenance personnel, Manufacturing and Office staff.
  • Understand and follow company policies and procedures on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s & SOP’s).
  • Must be flexible to working hours including overtime & weekends.
